Job description

Help Build Sustainable Communities and Support Outdoor Recreation with Data

Eco-Counter is the global leader in pedestrian and cyclist counting solutions, supporting the transition to data-driven planning. Our mission is to empower cities and public agencies with actionable data to improve safety, equity, and sustainability. With deployments in 49 states and over 65 countries, we’re shaping the future of active transportation and outdoor recreation opportunities.

In addition to urban mobility, Eco-Counter data plays a vital role in supporting outdoor recreation planning within parks, greenways, and trail systems. By providing accurate counts of pedestrians and cyclists, our solutions help park agencies and land managers measure usage, justify funding, plan for amenities, and ensure equitable access to natural areas. From national parks to local trail networks, Eco-Counter’s technology empowers agencies to enhance recreational experience and manage environmental impact effectively.

We are seeking a self-driven Technical Sales Consultant to lead sales and proactive client growth in California. This is your opportunity to become a leader in data-driven city planning—selling solutions to help turn data into insights.

What You’ll Do

• Help communities become smart, sustainable cities by delivering hardware and data solutions that support planning and infrastructure development.

• Prospect and sell Eco-Counter’s offerings—including software, data analytics, and sensor systems—to existing and new public sector clients (cities, counties, DOTs, MPOs).

• Execute successful sales strategies to meet quarterly and annual targets

• Qualify inbound leads and proactively build your own outbound sales pipeline

• Nurture, manage and build success within the key growth accounts

• Conduct compelling product demos and virtual/in-person presentations for planners, engineers, and transportation leaders.

• Use Salesforce to manage pipelines and client accounts.

• Represent Eco-Counter at key industry events, conferences, and regional meetings.

Job requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Education: Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., planning, environmental science, recreation, business).

• Experience: 3–5 years in a closing role—selling SaaS, sensors, data, or consulting.

• Sales Talent: Proven ability to prospect, pitch, and close. Comfortable managing a high-impact pipeline independently.

• Tech-Savvy: Skilled in using CRM systems (Salesforce), video conferencing, and sales engagement tools

• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; capable of explaining technical products to decision-makers and end-users.

• Mission-Driven: Excited to work for a company making communities safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

What We Offer

• A high-impact, autonomous position in a growing company.

• Base salary + performance bonus + profit sharing + 401 (k) matching.

• 4 weeks of vacation (5 weeks after your first year).

• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage in the U.S.

• Alternative mobility subsidy to support sustainable commuting.

• Remote work environment (home + travel ~8–12 times/year).
