The Role
We are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead Eco-Counter’s sales and client growth in California. This role is ideal for someone with experience selling to the public sector (cities, counties, DOTs, MPOs, park agencies) and a passion for mobility, outdoor recreation, and data-driven planning.
You will be the regional sales leader, responsible for building strong client relationships, guiding agencies through consultative sales cycles, and helping communities use Eco-Counter’s technology to make smarter planning decisions.
What you will do
Drive sales growth in California by building and managing relationships with public sector clients (cities, DOTs, counties, MPOs, park and trail agencies).
Lead the entire sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, responding to RFPs, presenting solutions, negotiating, and closing deals.
Deliver compelling presentations and product demos to planners, engineers, and decision-makers.
Develop strategies to expand Eco-Counter’s presence in urban mobility and outdoor recreation markets.
Manage pipelines and accounts using Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasts and reporting.
Represent Eco-Counter at key industry conferences, events, and regional meetings.
Job requirements
What you bring
5+ years of sales experience, with proven success selling to the public sector (cities, DOTs, counties, state agencies, or similar) or
3–5 years in a closing role—selling SaaS, sensors, data, or consulting
Experience with long, consultative sales cycles (including RFPs and public procurement processes).
Knowledge or strong interest in urban planning, transportation, outdoor recreation, or data/IoT solutions.
Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to both engineers and executives.
Self-starter mindset with strong networking, relationship-building, and account management skills.
Based in California (Los Angeles or San Diego area preferred), willing to travel regionally.
